E-Commerce Manager


An International Hotel Group with a base in the North is looking for an E-Commerce Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Responsible for driving hotel’s channel performance by managing online marketing E-Commerce, social media practices, optimizing hotel content, and integrating to the hotels tools and systems. Develop and implement hotel Distribution marketing strategies across Websites WEB, Central Reservation Offices CRO, Global Distribution Systems GDS, and On Line Travel Agents OTA to increase revenue through system contribution.

Distribution Channels
• Define hotel Distribution and Relationship Marketing initiatives based on market needs and cost of sale.
• Direct programs to drive revenue via the Web channels through targeted demand generation, conversion and channel loyalty initiatives.
• Create and execute online marketing strategies and actions to ensure achieving the total e-commerce budget, including not only OTAS but direct sales through company website
• Giving recommendations to the Revenue Manager when needed and following the pricing strategy defined by the overall Revenue team.

Up to date Content
• Ensure Content and Images are up to date on Hotel Content Manager HCM, consistent across all channels and partner websites e.g. Expedia
• Facilitate hotel adoption to Hotel Group new tools and systems
• Merchandise Hotel Group global/regional campaigns

• The first order of business is to assess our current social media marketing processes and strategies. Along with the company stakeholders. You will require to create and implement the social media strategy framework that will be applied to each client engagement, including Facebook, Google, Tripadvisor, Twitter, etc
Social Media
• Overall responsibility for Social Media relevant to the hotel’s source market
• Responsible for coaching social media best practices to relevant hotel departments
• Monitor both hotel’s and competitors’ presence on social media, engage the audience through interaction and campaigns
• Formulating evaluation of Social Marketing campaigns
• Strategize with and educate the management team and others across the company on incorporating relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services.
• Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts.
• Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data from Hotel Group Social Listening report into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns
• Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media by developing and execute PR & Marketing plans, activities and performance throughout the year to ensure alignment to current strategy and effectiveness in accordance with the business needs of the hotel.
• Build strong media relationships with international and local bloggers food, lifestyle, travel and beauty bloggers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FINANCIAL RETURNS
• Develops a public relations programme for the hotel based on its marketing goals. Liaises with Sales targeting specific markets and developing the public relations strategies to reach these markets
• Establishes sales leads from the study of magazines, newspapers and form personal contacts coordinates sales leads with Banqueting and Sales Departments.
• Developing department annual budget. Monitor and controlling departmental costs on an ongoing basis o ensure performance against budget
• Adhere to hotel brand standards
• To ensure social media campaigns have calls-to-action that drive target buyers to the hotel social media sites and generate leads for the hotel.
• Communicating in a professional, but unique social media “voice” for each client and increase hotel revenue including F&B, rooms, banquet, etc directly aligned with the clients thought, leadership and content platform.
• Development and execution of the online marketing activities to drive the business in generating leads and convert into business to the hotel. Ensure that total revenue target are met or exceeded.
• Define hotel Distribution and Relationship Marketing initiatives based on market needs and cost of sale.
• Review channel performance. Highlight risks, opportunities, and provide recommendations to the management team.
• Leverage Best Price Guarantee across all channels supporting direct bookings to brand websites that will result in better revenues and stronger guest loyalty.
• Monitor & maintain budgetary control over PR expenditures prepare summaries for program tracking and determine effectiveness of current promotions to maximize the Company’s return on social media investments.

This is the top marketing communications position for a full service luxury, resort, or major flagship hotel with high volume catering, banquet, and/or convention facilities and a large number of VIP and special service guests.
This job is responsible for the coordination and servicing of hotels marketing communications. May manage both professional level and administrative support employees.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelors Degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in hospitality or related field, and 4+ years total experience in a marketing communications or related field, with direct supervisory experience over marketing communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Other languages preferred.

Technical skills and knowledge :

• Self motivated, hungry for a challenge, and looking to make an immediate impact.
• Fully engaged in social media culture and understand the fine line of managing a professional, but effective social media presence.
• Demonstrated expertise of online marketing as well as offline
• Good writing and are good at it, and have strong proofreading capabilities.
• Strong marketing foundational knowledge.
